Color Palette Generator

This tool helps you discover, create, and refine beautiful color palettes for your design projects. Whether you're a web designer, graphic artist, or just looking for the perfect color scheme, a good palette is crucial for creating a cohesive and visually appealing result.

Our generator provides a simple yet powerful interface to quickly generate random palettes, lock your favorite colors, fine-tune individual shades, name and save your creations for later use, and easily share them with others via direct links or social media.

How to Use This Tool

• Generate Palettes: Click the Generate New PaletteGenerate button to instantly create a new 5-color palette. Unlocked colors will be replaced with new random shades.
• Lock Colors: Like a color? Click the lock icon ( / ) on a color swatch to prevent it from changing during regeneration. Click again to unlock.
• Edit Colors: For unlocked colors in the active palette, click the small color square next to the HEX code to open a color picker. The HEX code will update live, and the swatch background will change instantly.
• Copy Colors:
  • Individual HEX: Click the copy icon () next to any HEX code (in the active palette or saved palettes) to copy it.
  • Entire Palette: Use the "Copy current palette as: [HEX] [RGB] [HSL]" buttons for the active palette, or the similar set of buttons within each saved palette card to copy all its colors in your preferred format.
• Save Palettes: Happy with your current palette? Click the Save Current PaletteSave button. You'll be prompted to give your palette a name (optional). It will then be stored locally in your browser.
• Manage Saved Palettes: Scroll down to the "Saved Palettes" section. Here you can:
  • Search: Use the search bar above the list to quickly find palettes by their name.
  • View: See your saved palettes, each displaying its name (or "Untitled"), the date saved, and the number of colors.
  • Load: Click "Load" to make a saved palette your active palette.
  • Delete: Remove a palette you no longer need.
• Share Your Palette:
  • Copy Link: Click the "Copy Link" button (styled with purple) in the "Copy current palette as:" section. This gives you a unique URL for your current palette.
  • Share on Twitter: Click the Twitter icon button (styled with light blue) to share your current palette directly.
  • Loading Shared Palettes: If you open a link that someone shared with you (or one you saved previously using "Copy Link"), the generator will automatically load that specific palette.
• Responsive Design: The tool is designed to be mobile-friendly. On smaller screens, some buttons will show icons only for a cleaner look.
