About This Tool

This calculator determines the duration between two specified dates and times. It provides the difference in various units, including approximate fractional values (like 1.5 years), total durations (like total hours), exact integer counts (like 1 full year and 6 full months), and a detailed breakdown (X years, Y months, Z days...).

How to Use

  1. Select a Start Date.
  2. Optionally, uncheck "All Day" and select a Start Time (defaults to 00:00 if unchecked and left empty).
  3. Select an End Date.
  4. Optionally, uncheck "All Day" and select an End Time (defaults to 00:00 if unchecked and left empty).
  5. (Optional) Adjust the Decimal Places for approximate/total results.
  6. The results will automatically update below. Ensure the end date/time is not earlier than the start date/time.
  7. Click the copy icon next to any result to copy it.
